MEET JJ

IMG_1401 2.heic

Hi, I’m JJ, Occupational Therapist, RKT Director and LEGO enthusiast. I have more than 10 years experience working with children with Autism and a life-long passion for seeing kids achieve their potential. I believe in strengths based, functional therapy that is evidence based and driven by each family’s hopes and dreams for their child. I have a strong interest in supporting complex behaviours and believe that no matter how challenging a situation appears, things can and will look different in the future.

Outside of work I am the lucky husband to my wife Emily, father to our gorgeous children Elsie and Fletcher, and our cheeky Spoodle Molly. I very much see the trust you place in Resilient Kids as an extension of a therapy family, and am very grateful for the opportunities to share in your lives.

MEET AMOR

Hi, I'm Amor and I’m one of the Occupational Therapists at Resilient Kids Therapy. I have always loved working with children and that passion has only grown since becoming an Occupational Therapist. I enjoy the holistic approach of Occupational Therapy and getting to work with not only the child but also their family. I am passionate about addressing a child’s developmental needs to support them in developing the skills they may need to have the best opportunities at school, at home, and with their friends.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends which normally involves game night. I also enjoy going on hikes, spending time at the beach and trying different artsy activities.

MEET KAYLA

Hi, I am Kayla, I have an honours degree in Occupational Therapy. I have previously worked as an administrative assistant, swimming instructor and support worker.  I love working with children and supporting them to achieve their goals in whichever setting it may be. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationships with my clients, making therapy fun and working collaboratively with a child’s support network.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and dog (Loki).  I also enjoy running, swimming or doing something creative like painting. I am a big foodie and enjoy trying different cuisines.

MEET EMMA

Hi, I'm Emma and one of the Occupational Therapists at RKT. Since graduating from university, I have worked in the early intervention space. My passion for working with children started long before I became an OT—growing up, I loved helping my parents run Scout Group sessions and I saw first hand how fun, connection, and encouragement can make a world of difference for young people.

In my therapy sessions, I take a strengths-based approach, focusing on what each child can do and building on those skills in ways that are engaging, playful, and meaningful. I believe play isn’t “just fun”—it’s a child’s most powerful tool for learning, growing, and connecting.

Outside of work, I’m happiest when I’m spending time with my friends, family, and partner, or going on adventures with my spoodle, Dougal. I’m rarely without a coffee in hand, and I love card making, attending board game nights and watching cringe-worthy reality TV shows.

MEET MEI-LEE

Hi, my name is Mei-lee and I have been working as an Occupational therapist for almost 5 years now. Within that time, I have worked both public and private sectors in Paediatrics as well as taking some time off to travel with my husband. We have just moved back to Perth, after living in Geraldton for the past year- so it is a pleasure to join the team at Resilient Kids Therapy.

Outside of work, I love spending time with loved ones, especially going for walks with my husband Ben or cooking something new together. I look forward to working alongside you and creating a meaningful OT journey at RKT.

MEET OUR FAMILY SUPPORT TEAM

IMG_3727.heic

Hi, I’m Gretha and my role is to support the team as the centre administrator.

I was a high school language teacher for 12 years in South Africa
and after immigrating to Australia with my husband and three boys,
(JJ being my middle child) I worked as an ESL teacher, teaching English to overseas students, for 22 years. I loved working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I also have experience in retail, customer service and office administration.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family, especially the grandkids! I also love catching up with my close friends on my day off and I keep a mixed media journal to help me relax and keep me sane.

Hi, I’m Sam and I am part of the office admin team at Resilient Kids Therapy. I’m the one replying to emails and calls alongside Gretha and getting you all set up and in the care of our OT’s. I have worked in office administration for the past 10 years with some breaks in between to have my two children Philip & Clara with my husband, Ben.

When I’m not working at RKT, and doing the school run, I enjoy hanging out and relaxing with our friends and family on the weekends, either hosting a BBQ or going out to playgrounds with the kids.

MEET TANYA

image000000.jpg

Hi, I’m Tanya, I’m the one at RKT behind the scenes doing all the boring paperwork stuff so the RKT team can do what they are good at. I have over 30 years admin experience with the last 10 years in the health sector. I’ve worked in disability, medical, allied health and child support services. I think I’ve found my niche as I love helping people and hearing about all the little achievements along the way.

When I’m not working I’m generally hanging out with my son (Christian) and my cute little dog (Rosie). We love to socialise with friends, go for walks and go to the park. My son and I also like to go see live shows whether it’s theatre, wrestling, monster trucks or car racing! I think I have just as much fun as him! I work part time for RKT, so am not online every day, however if you email me I will always reply. I’m here to assist you and answer all your questions.
